Imogen Gibson

I started dancing at the Jane Wheeler School of Dance at the age of 5. I danced here until I was 16 years old taking part in shows and taking my RAD ballet exams. Jane inspired me to take my dancing further and at 16 I gained a place at KS Dance Ltd where I trained professionally for 3 years. I gained my Level 6 Diploma in Professional Dance and my Teaching qualifications in ISTD Ballet, Tap and Modern.

During college I danced with the Allegrodance Touring Company and performed in many Showcases at the Brindley Theatre. Upon graduation I danced professionally in a touring show in Cyprus and then went onto work at Disney Land Paris, dancing in the Parades.

I returned home to Barnoldswick and started taking some classes for Jane. I found my passion for teaching and in September 2014 I took over the dance School from Jane Wheeler, a school that is very close to my heart. I hope to inspire the children just like Jane inspired me.

At the age of three I started Ballet at the Jane Wheeler School of Dance and at the age of five I started Tap and Modern classes there too. I danced with Jane until I was 16 years old, taking part in shows and helping Jane with her younger classes.

I have always had a big passion for dance so at 16 I decided to audition for Professional dance schools. Successfully I gained a place at Preston Dance College where I trained for three years gaining my Teaching qualifications in ISTD Imperial Ballet, Tap and Modern. I also took part in end of year shows with top choreographers such a Layla Ellison who has choreographed dances for Olly Murs, One Direction and many more!

Not only have I performed in a variety of shows, I have competed in competitions such as Rambert elements at the Lowry Manchester. In November 2016 I became a qualified Acrobatic Arts Teacher. I am now teaching the Acrobatic Arts syllabus to students from ages 4-16. In 2023 I also became a Rockbox instructor.
